D2 Basketball basketball Daily
Nova Southeastern has started off 7-0. The Sharks have scored over 100 points in each game this season. Nova Southeastern must still have a bad taste in their mouths from the final last season.
Minnesota State is 4-4. The Mavericks opened up with an exhibition at Kentucky. After a slow start the Mavericks have won 3 straight and are now sitting at 500.
Ferris State is 8-1. The Bulldogs only loss is to West Texas A&M. The Herdsmen also made the elite 8 last season.
West Texas A&M is 6-0, undefeated in the early part of the season. They play a few conference games before the December break, but will get to the heart of their schedule in January.
CSUSB is off to a 7-2 start.
Gannon is 6-2 and one of their early season losses was to Nova Southeastern 99-122. Look for the Golden Knights to make a run again this season
UNG is off to a 7-1 start and played defending champion Minnesota State in the small college hall of fame basketball tournament in Lakeland in November. North Georgia plays gritty, tough defense.
SNH is 3-3, yep I know everyone has seen the commercials for their great online programs, however Southern New Hampshire has a pretty good basketball team! Last year they went 24-11 so if I am a fan. I wouldn't worry about the early season start.
One thing I can say about most of the elite 8 teams from last year is that most of them have scored at least 100 points in a game. This let's me know these teams still have plenty of fire power left.
West Texas A&M will host D2cca Tip off classic. Powerhouse teams like Ferris State will be there, also UNC Pembroke will be there.
GVSU Basketball will test itself early this season with three big time opponents starting this weekend against Toledo.
The Defending national champions Minnesota State will travel to historic Rupp arena to take on the university of Kentucky October 29th in an exhibition game.
